From South Florida to Professional Baseball

Alan Sharkey began playing baseball at a young age and quickly distinguished himself as a standout athlete. He attended Coral Springs High School, where he earned First Team All County honors three consecutive years and became the school’s career hits leader with 136 hits. During his varsity career, he helped lead his teams to three straight district championships from 2010 to 2013.

As a Colt, Sharkey posted a .437 batting average, further solidifying his reputation as a disciplined and dangerous hitter. As a senior, he committed to Nova Southeastern University under Greg Brown, but his path changed when he was drafted in the 13th round of the 2012 MLB Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers.

Five Years in the Brewers Organization

Alan spent five seasons in the Milwaukee Brewers organization, competing across multiple levels including the Arizona League, Pioneer League, and Midwest League. In his first professional season, he recorded more walks than strikeouts, a reflection of his advanced approach and understanding of the strike zone.

During his professional career, Sharkey trained at some of the most respected baseball training facilities in the country and learned directly from elite hitting and fielding instructors. These years shaped the technical foundation that now defines his coaching philosophy.

After being released by the Brewers in 2016, Sharkey transitioned from player to coach with a clear mission. He did not want to simply repeat drills. He wanted to teach hitters how to think, adjust, and compete.

AS4 Baseball was built on the belief that elite hitting is developed through mechanics, mindset, and measurable progress. Every athlete is trained with intent, structure, and accountability. No shortcuts. No generic instruction.
